I have been working on the car starter for the 2000 Jimmy and I have been looking at the diagrams from DEI and on this website, and this website lists a third ignition (brown wire in ignition harness), some say in the forums that it is a second Accessory wire, and the DEI diagram does not list a third ignition or second accessory wire. Will someone please enlighten be about this problem?

it seems like you trust the diagram too well. its a good time to start using the DMM to check w/ the diagram. the diagram may be correct and may not be correct. you can do this manually w/ a key switch b/t acc and ign to verify if its a third ign or 2nd acc.
good luck!!!!!

I was going to use my DMM tomorrow when it was a little warmer and check some connections, but thanks for the advice anyway.

Brown is a 3rd IGN, although you may not need it for everything to work properly.

The brown wire is usually a second accessory.  It will power up the radio.  So you don't need it to hook up remote start.

The brown wire I found to be the second accessory.
