In my opinion, Alpine beats Pioneer hands down every time.  With the proper DASH KIT, yes, either can fit.

I am a big fan of Alpine head units, I own an Alpine CDA-9815 myself which is just one step up from the 9811. I have owned pioneer units (dehp-840mp and 640mp) and while their nice they don't compare to the alpines.

GO with the Alpine over the Pioneer , I would also suggest you look into the Eclipse's unit's http://www.eclipse-web.com/products/av/index.html as well

Pioneer I think is mostly bells and whistles. Especially thier lower priced modles. Definitely go with Alpine.

I agree with the consensus, Alpine over Pioneer any day. I'm running the CDA-7995 and love it.
I have to agree with Bberman1 too, if you can afford Eclpise deffinately look into them.

I have the 750mp which is basically the same, except for warranty and maybe preout V.  Go with Alpine.  I've had mine for about five months.  From day one cds would stick when ejected.  I'm glad it has a two year warranty.  I'm not to happy about taking it back out and waiting possibly a month.  When I do, it will be replaced with Eclipse or Alpine.  The pioneer will go in the wifes car.
