Turning amp on/off

yes your remote will only turn the amp on off with the radio. you also can connect it through your ignition with a toggle switch or with the ignition itself, but having the remote I would go that route.Sound Pressure

If you hook up a switch to interupt the amp's remote turn on, you should only turn the switch to the off position when the radio is off. If you don't do this, the speakers running off that amp will give a huge pop. It's not good for them. The reason for this is that there is still an audio signal running to the amp when the power is turned off. Normally, radios and other audio gear mute the audio signal before cutting the power. You will also likely get a trun on pop too. Shop around for a preamp fader. They used to make some preamp faders that would allow you to have a gain/volume control only on the sub amp's audio signal. This would allow you to adjust the volume or shut off the audio if wanted to. They now offer the same feature in most decks with sub-out on them.sparky
