Hey all,

Well I took my amp down to the local shop and had them throw it on my sub. I had an older amp that I told them to throw on my door speakers. Now after listening to it I realized that the read (door) speakers are not working. They move when base hits, but no sound comes out. What I think they did was cut the wrong wires and put the amp to my front speakers. But if they did this, then my rear speakers would still have having sound come from them I do believe. I'm not sure and any help would be appreciated.

First of all it sound like you had this installed. Ok the rear door speakers move because the subs are pushing a lot of air so the air the subs are pushing are also moving the rear satellites. There could be several things. Easiest first. 1st. maybe they did connect it right and the fuse on the Amp is blown. Old amps that are moved or changed usually do that. 2nd. your RIGHT take it back and have it repaired. hope this helps

I would check the crossover on the amp. make sure it isnt on the low pass filter. switch it to the high pass.

1 plus 1 equals 2

Cavyman that is exactly what it was....I had a sudden thought about that last night actually and went out and checked it and sure enough that was the problem lol I felt kinda dumb cuz I checked all the wiring and completely forgot about that.

Does it affect a speakers sound quality when this happens with the speakers on the rear deck and a sub or two in the trunk?

Yes it does, you are best to buy yourself a set of "hats" for your rear speakers. They are either made out of foam (XTC speaker baffles) or plastic (American International). These prevent the output shockwave from the subs from interfering with the rear speakers.

Excellent point. When I was overseas, one of the guys at a sound shop I went to actually built some boxes to secure to the underside of his rear deck speakers just for this purpose.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
