I'm making kicks for a 4 and a tweeter, i don't know how big they'll end up being, but do i need to leave them sealed, or vent them into the carpet?  i have another option that may be the best way..  i relocated the wiring harnesses on both sides of the car, so i have big holes in the metal.  i built the kicks curving into that hole for added space.  i could cut that out and that hole would then give me much more airspace.  i would dynamat in it and probably pad it as well.

so whats the best way to do this?  the speakers, if it matters, are boston pro 3-ways, the 4 and tweeter are in the kick, and the amp is a jl 300/2.

they are 4" speakers. it won't matter. seal the panels, or just buy a set from Q-Logic pre-made.
