I can't seem to find the wire that lights up the parking brake indicater in the dash. I guess it's just a ground wire to close the circuit. It's probably obvious, but I can't seem to find it.

Anybody know?

I need it to tell the RS when the parking brake is on.

1997 Ford Ranger. 5-speed.

does this truck not have the parking brake pedal on the floor?  get up under the dash and look for the single wire that attaches to the brake assembly, usually just plugs in.  this will be your brake wire...

good stuff bobrosco....you should see the wire go to ground when the pedal is depressed, and rest at nothing (or maybe +12V) when pedal is all the way up.  good luck!
