3 amps, 3 subs, 3 ohms.

Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting myself 3 seperate amps, one foreach of my subs. I cant seem to find a 1000 watt amp at 4 ohms, forcheap. I would much rather have the single amp, but I think i'm gonnahave to get the three. Well, amp I was looking at is the Polk/MOMO500.1 Carbon series. The amp is a mono block amp, thats capable of350W x 1 @ 4ohms, or 500W x 1 @ 2 ohms. The reason for the Subjectline, is because I have dual six ohm subs, so, when i wire them inparallel, im going to get a 3 ohm load. I was just wondering if therewas a way to calculate how much power I'd get from the amp for eachsub, and if these amps would work. I am going to use these amps topower 3 MA Audio 10" Dual 6 ohm subs. They handle 350 RMS, 700 Peak.Thanks alot.1990 Honda Civic HB:

If you are going to spend the money to get three amps, why not get a jl audio 1000/1, which puts out equal power at 1.5-4 ohms.  That will be giving the speakers pretty much exactly the power they need, and probably will be cheaper than buying three separate amps.  As a bonus, it happens to be regarded as a very good amp.  I be tossin and flossin, my style is awesome. Causin' more family feuds than Richard Dawson.

I saw the 1000/1 amp, but that damn thing is 1000 dollars. I can get the polk amps and caps cheap through a friend who works at circuit city. I never thought of the class d amp idea though. Hmm...1990 Honda Civic HB:

Your best bet is to use one amp to power all 3 subs, you can run into all sorts of headaches if you try the one amp per sub route, things like space for mounting, extra money for wiring, proper crossover matching, proper gain setting, type of box used, differences in efficiencies of the amps, proper signal splitting on the rca input....... Find a good solid class D mono sub amp, spend the extra little bit on it, it will not dissappoint you.Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
