i just finished an install with 2 tv's in the headrest and a ps2 under the seat. now he has alpine headunit(hes getting an indash tv in a few months)but when i hooked up the fm mod and turn it on i get really bad audio. lots of hiss and doise.the modulator had a noise suppresor on it but ti still very noisey. have any ideas on how to fix itto make it better.please help

Check your ground. I sometimes bring my dvd player along on trips (its my hometheaters dvd player so its not 12 volt though) but I have to ground it otherwise all you hear through the auxiallry input on my alpine HU is a buzzing noise. Make sure your ground cable is properly secured and if there is paint where you are screwing the ground cable onto try to scrape it away. Also some Alpine HU have an auxiallry input adaptor so you dont have to use an FM modulator. Also make sure your antennae connection is secure on the HU and FM modulator.

yeah this doenst have an aux input . i used the ground from the harness. should i run a new ground

im going to try a new ground tom.. cause this kid is drivingme crazy

if that doesnt work what else can i try

Check your RCA connectors and make sure they are at least triple shielded and also, make sure that they are run opposite side of ANY power source wires. Another possibility is that your power source has junk in the lines. Use a relay to power your main power your video system.

Check your RCA connections for ground loop. Disconnect your RCA from source going to the FM modulator. If distortion or wine goes away ADD a good ground loop isolator. I recommend using the "audio link" converter as a ground loop isolator. Read the directions in the audio link piece on how to convert it over to a ground loop isolator. Good luck.
