Some of you may get on me for asking this, but bare with me. I Want to replace my Factory unit with factory sub with an alpine cda-9815, jbl p80.4(4ch amp) and jbl bp1200.1(2ch sub amp). I don't want to use my factory amplifer. Let me know what i need to do inorder to make this setup possible. All help is appreciated.

Depending on your budget for component speakers and a second sub,cable connects, high-output alternator, speaker wire and installation, not to mention decent battery upgrade...around a grand to 1500 dollars.

Loud Subwoofers only, do not make a quality car audio system, especially when they are worth more than your "car"

Got most of the equipment already. I'm Just not sure what to purchase inorder for me to do my setup because of the onstar crap thats on there. Mines just has onstar, and premium factory not bose. I have been reading other post talking about converter that must be used inorder for me to use it to my stock speakers, but i don't want to use the stock amp. I probally have to rerun all the wires.

You will need a Starmod2 adaptor to continue to use the onstar system. It is available from Soundgate. It is available at pretty much any specialty retailer. You will need to rewire all speakers in the vehicle, so while your at it, sound deaden the doors etc. and put some decent speakers in there to match your good equipment. You will need a dash kit to mount the cd player and an antenna adaptor as well. Scosche makes some good kits, www.scosche.com model# GM1486 and antenna adaptor model# MDA1.

Yeah, use some good speakers from someone like Boston, JL Audio, or Focal.

Thanks for the help guys. you think I just can cut\splice the 4ch amp to the speaker wires from the factory amp that lead to the speakers(short and easy way). Or should I just go ahead and run completly new larger gauge speaker wires to each individual speaker.

Hey forbidden,

Do you think its still have to get that adapter for onstar if I don't want to use it any more. And be ok if I just rerun the wires.

You will need a wire harness, a dash kit. And amp bypass kit if you don't want to hack anything up. It just plugs into the wires comming off the factory amp, and bypass's it.

You will need an amp install kit. I reccomend a stinger 0 guage kit for your application, since you are going with the heuge sub amp. And you will also need a distribution block so you can split the power wire to run 1 wire to you sub amp, and 1 to your speaker amp. You will need 2 more sets of RCA cables. 1 set will come in the amp kit.

Thats basiacally the major stuff. You may need connectors and such while in the install process.
