... Use Plain Text Editors If you edit or format your posts in another editor before pasting them into the message form, please use Notepad® or some other plain text editor. Do not use Word®! Word® and several other rich text editors include code that will cause your posts to be displayed incorrectly. These posts may be deleted without notice.

it could also be your browser. What browser are you using? Try using Internet Explorer or Netscape (the most common browsers).    If you are reading/writing from a UNIX shell account, you will also have such problems. If you tell me what OS and browser you are running and what hardware, I can tell you for sure.

I am using internet explorer V6.  I am not pasting anything.  I am typing into the reply box.  I have tried Enable Forum Codes and I have tried without Enable Forum Codes.

Looks like you are using the right stuff. I see that it is working well now, whatever you did to fix it. I can't really tell too much because I don't have access to what the moderators have,as they can actually see more details on your "session" details, much more than your IP, which can narrow down the possibilities.
If you used explorer V6 and typed directly in the reply box, you shold not have had the "garbage" you see before. That was raw HTML code. If you enable "Forum codes", it only allows you to see bold, italics, underline etc but won't show raw html.
However I am glad to see that you have it working now.

It has nothing to do with enabling "forum codes" or the browser you are using. If you use a rich text editor such as Microsoft Word®, then copy from Word® into your post, regardless of wether or not you have forum codes enabled, it will show fubar as it did above. If you must use a text editor instead of typing directly into the form, use Notepad® or any other plain text editor. You can however copy from Word®, then paste into Notepad®, then copy from Notepad® and paste into the form.
