Yet again...latching relay

Hi people....not to sound crappy, but this site does RULE!  I all of a sudden found a couple more 'projects' for my car.  Regarding my question...Im trying to wire an accessory (30A fan) to a pre-existing momentary switch on my dashboard.  I have everything wired up as I want it but I need a latching relay to hold the current from the switch to the fan.  Basically, I want the fan to come on when i push the momentary switch AND STAY ON, until i push on the same switch again to cut the fan off.  The switch receives/allows to pass (once pushed)  12 V and the fan has a 30A fusable link, so im assuming a 30 amp relay will hold it nicely. Can anyone direct me to an appropriate latching relay for my application?  Also, i searched and searched because i was under the impression that the latching relay i was looking for looked like your average 30 power relay, are there any of those or are all latching relays like the ones made for computer boards?  Thanx in advance...i plan to browse this thing and suck the juice of knowledge!

Redrabit69:  I was reading the description on top of the diagram you said, and it sais that to cut it off I would need another switch?  I dont know if Im good just using the one switch I want to use, or if on top of that I need another one....which would defeat the purpose of what Im trying to do.  If you can clarify me on the issue i would much appreciate it.

If you are using a standard SPDT relay. You will have to add the diode in place as it is illustrated in the diagram on this site. Total costs to you would be under $2.00 USD Regards EVIL Teken . . .

yeh the diode goes across the coil of the relay to stop voltage spikes, the stripe side of the diode connects to the positive side of the coil (don`t forget them, I made a remote starter and forgot the diodes, took me months to figure out why it only worked 80% of the time!) yeh from the sounds of it you would need another switch...is it a factory car switch, or is it one someone has put in for something else? Personally I`d take it out and put in a toggle switch, then you`d only need one relay

The latching relay setup using 4 relays and 2 diodes on this site works like a champ! I use it for my neons. One push on... one push off. MelSomeone pass me that bottle.

Does any body know where I can get a relay board?  For example, if I was to use the 4 relay set up, i'd like to have all relays sitting on a board...just to keep things ordered and clean.  Any suggestions?
