What is everyones opinion of the Honda factory security system?  One of the main reasons for getting an alarm would be for a shock sensor which the OEM doesn't have.  200+ dollars just for a glass break mic seems kind of high.  If anyone has installed an aftermarket alarm in an CR-V EX please share some insight.  I have installed about ten alarms before and am pretty confident with any thing that will need to be done.  I am looking at the Alpine SEC-150R.  I don't have any experience with Alpine alarms and would value any opinions or tips.

The Alpine alarms are good, but the range suck on those things. Adding universal trigger devices onto the Alpine is easy and there are alot of inputs for triggers on these systems as well. The programming is a bit of a pain, but once it's done, the system usually operates flawlessly.

Anything to look out for?  I saw you have to diode isolate the door triggers.  Why is the relay needed for the locks?
