Im a happy owner of a Valentine one radar/laser detector and recently it must have gotten a little surge from my alternator. The alternator must have shorted the unit and it started showing an "E" when turned on. I know it was the alternator that caused it because this message came right up after the alternator gave up on me. That was replaced but now the bigger problem is my $400 detector. I like to think I am tech savvy so maybe I can check this out myself before sending it out to Valentine one (warranty is up) and having them fix it. Does anyone know what could be wrong? The fuse did not blow out on the cord. I can't think of what it could be.
Thanks!

I had proble once with my valentine one like that.

Try holding down the mute button till it changes to program mode and then let go of the bottom.

I hope this works for you.

Thanks for the post but that did not work me :-/. What caused you to get the E message? ALso, I noticed the down arrow is on. Perhaps thats some indication of the problem.
Thanks
