how do u bypass the security on the cva-1004

you want to be able to watch video while driving? check out http://www.pac-audio.com i believe they have a bypass that does it automatically. you can do it manually with a toggle switch hooked to the park brake wire.

Just grounding the parking brake wire doesn't work on alpines. Search for this topic in this forum and you will find multiple ways.

Yup also have to toggle the brake and go through a sequence with the hand brake.

Go to radio shack pick up a $2 set of toggle switches and hook handbrake switch to ground........footbrake switch to 12volts.

If it doesn't fit.......make it fit.

can someone tell me in more detail how to bypass this security feature on this alpine unit thanks

The toggle switches replace the functions that the foot brake and the hand brake are suppose to do. So instead of hooking up the wires from the CVA to the two wires mentioned, wire in toggle switches in their place and go through the same sequence that you normally would have with the foot and the hand brake.
