OK guys

installed remote start - alarm

will start and run fine with no problems with factory alarm

however

when you open the trunk or a door in armed mode ( testing the door triggers)

the factory alarm comes on along with the aftermarket alarm

when i disarm the aftermarket it doesnt stop the factory alarm

i have to use the factory remote to disarm it

I did use the lt green wire at bcm to disarm factory alarm..with a factory disarm lead from the new alarm

anyone have ideas on what im missing or how to properly disable the factory alarm totally?

Just sounds like you have the wrong wire or the factory disarm output on your unit is fried..Did you test the wire to make sure it's the right one? If not, put your meter on the wire and when you turn the key in the door to the unlock position that wire should see a ground. On a blazer I usually pickup the factory disarm wire (light green) in the drivers door jamb boot. Will probably be the only light green wire coming in from the door. By the way the factory alarm won't go off when you start the car with the remote start so that is no indication if you have the right wire or not. Good luck,

I don't know your particular vehicle but I might be facing a very similar problem as I am going to be installing an aftermarket alarm with remote start and I already installed an OEM alarm in my vehicle a few months ago. What my plan is (and I confirmed this with the dealer without offending his business) that I will remove the OEM alarm and just install the new one. So my suggestion is, if it is possbile, remove the factory alarm. If it is going to be a pain in the neck to do it, then at least remove/cut the power to the factory alarm's "brain"; that will make it deactivated. Only your new alarm with be functional. Hope I helped unless you already thought of this before.

any idea where the wire / fuse or whatever is needed to disable the factory alarm permanently?

I got the triggers working on my GM truck. It well worth the effort

I think (I know) your playing with fire trying disable the OEM alarm.

The alarm, the body control module and other electronic's are all networked together (class II data)

If you pull the plug on one your going to have trouble with other things.

thanks for all the help guys

this was my first remote start =)

turned out to be a bad brain problem ,didnt have the output to disarm alarm

had another alarm handy ,swapped and there she goes
