what is the epicenter?

can someone explain exactly what an epicenter is, and how it works...is this item worth having? what is the difference between it and an audio control overdrive? I understand it increases your bass, but how, and is it a clean signal or merely a sh*tty sounding bass button found on some decks?

The Epicenter is actually a sub-sonic synthesizer.  It can create missing bass frequency information below 30Hz and will enhance the bass already in the music.  It provides a signal boost (like a "loudness" button" and is a crossover for the sub amps.  A nice way to get the most out of entry-level equipment.  You do not need one if you are using good quality subs and amps.  The Overdrive is a 13 volt line driver and does not have any of the bass enhancement of the Epicenter.  If you want a combination of the two, get the new Epic-160.

you say good quality subs and amps...my system consists of an alpine 9811, viper 1200.1, and one crossfire 12" db in a bandpass...im planning on getting one more 1200.1 and two 15" titaniums.  is the epicenter worth it for me?

No, the Epicenter will have limited capabilities on 15" aluminum drivers . The Epicenter will work wonders on 12" and 10" subs, even good aluminum drivers in the proper boxes, Dyohn has the description of what it can do pretty much bang on.Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

A 15" sub can play lower frequencies with much more force than a comparable 10" or 12" sub. Thus this is why a 15" usually can deliver much cleaner and lower bottom end. As the Epicenter is geared towards lower end, if the subs capabilities are much greater, the capabilities of the Epicenter are much less noticeable.
