well the title pretty much explains it all.

but i installed it myself, on my 94 integra, the antenna cable is ran straight all the way from the center console area all the way to the top center behind the rear view mirror. NEW battery, i have two remotes, the 740xv (white remote) and a clifford rs 3.5 (carbon fiber remote). both ahve new batteries and get about the same range.  everything on the alarm works just the range was a big disappointment, i was really expecting the range to be a lot better. is some sort of extended range antenna i can buy?

if you have bundled up the antenna under the dash, that could be causing it.

I've heard that the new systems have bad range units out of the box. Try to move the antenna as suggested and also having the antenna sit vertically may also help your range . Try different things with the placement and orientation and post your results.

Hey guys I got a 790XV range question. I installed one onto my Jet boat however I don't want the antenna visible what can I do besides move it on top of the fiberglass ?  and yes the excess length is stretched out too.

My 790 gets great range.  It's in a 2003 mustang coupe.  I think you may have something in the windshield.   When I got EZ-PAss it was saying something about a lot of newer cars have some thing in the windsheild that the ez-pass will not work with.  I would imagine that the same thing would affect the alarm.    For kicks and giggles try suspending your antenea from the mirror.  As in pulll the extra wire out and let it hang right from where you have it now.  This should allow signal to get in the car from a 360 degree view.  and Try to arm/disarm the car from various angles to figure out if the windshield is the cause.

Moving the "responder" Antenna up to the windshield would be a problem for me since I don't have one ?
