Ok, I'm trying to finish up my Rattler 369D remote start install today.  Only thing left was Aux Channel 2 output to my trunk pop.  It's going on a 1997 Crown Vic.  The remote start works great, parking lights and power locks are all wired and working.

I followed the wiring here: http://wiringinstructions.com/231.htm

But I'm not getting any relay action or trunk release.  So I called the tech support and they told me first that my relay was bad.  I had wired 87 & 86 to 12v.  They had me test 85 and it showed 12v as well.  They said it shouldn't show 12v, so I went and bought another relay.  I hooked up the two powers to it (87 & 86) and then just tested pin 85 without ever hooking up any other wires.  It showed 12v as well, so I have a feeling the relays aren't bad.

First question- should I see 12v on 85?

Second question- anyone have any idea how I can test the channel 2 output on this remote start to verify it's actually working (the wire is a Red with white stripe).  I believe the diagram says it's a (-)200ma output??

Third question - according to tech support I can't just tap into the trunk release wire (Purple / YELLOW).  They say I have to actually cut the wire, run the actuator side to 30 and the switch side of the wire to 87A.  Is this correct or can I simply tap into it from 30 and not have to cut the wire?

Thanks in advance.  I'm a novice!

did you cut the wire?  if so make sure that one side is on "87a" not "87" and the other on "30"
