I'm adding an MTX 5 channel amp w/ subs to a factory neon head unit (AM/FM/CD with remote 4 disc changer).  What I need to know is how to go about turning on the amp and audiocontrol EQX?  Does the factory head unit have a power antenna lead? As far as I know, they never offered power antennas in the Neons.  I've checked the wiring diagram in the install bay section for a 2000 neon, but doesn't mention power antenna.  Any advice or ideas on how to have the amp and EQX turn on with the head unit?

Use the ignition line to the head unit or tap into the ignition line from the key tumblers to power the EQX and the amp. The remote on line is a 12volt line that is usually a low current triggering device to run the power antenna or amp. It will make no difference to the system if it has a +12v ignition or +12volt remote on signal coming into the two units that you are hooking up. Head back to the wiring section on this site for the proper color wire to attach the "remote on" wire from the EQX and the amp to the factory ignition wire.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

hey i have a 00 neon and heres what i did.  i have the moonroof so i just spliced into it right behind the fuse block, that way its fused and is on only when the car is running or acc.  you could do it that way if you have a moonroof, if not  just try something else that is only on when the car is either in acc. or runnin

Thanks guys for the advice! I ended up splicing in the the RED / white wire on the back of the fuze box and it works great.  Should be a cool install. It's my first attempt at fiberglass sub enclosures.
