Clifford 3.5 Range

I have a Clifford 3.5 in a 95 dodge avenger and the range is like maybe 500 feet any ideas? if i am indoors it's like 250 my Viper 800 had beter range

i have a 3.5 and i'm getting about 1200-1500 ft.   you must have a problem somewhere.

Is the antenna cable "streched out?"  Meaning, lengthwise, not bunched up.  I have heard that if you bundle up the slack, the range will decrease.   I have mine "running loose."
