I cut the yellow wirte and connected the the balck and yellow and the yellow to the yellow wire as directed. I connected the black to the black wire on the passlock 3 wire interface. I am lost as to what would would be causing this problem. Please Help!!!

check to make sure that the power for the 555l is staying on and that its not on a pulsed output wire

Are you using voltage sensing or tach sensing? If tach have you completed the tach learn procedure? Are you sure you are tapping the correct tach signal wire? This car has passlock which if not bypassed right will start and then shut down after a few seconds.
V6 motor tach signal is PURPLE / white at coil pack
4 cylinder is white in 16 pin connector on top right side of motor or you can find them in PCM behind passenger dash
Make sure you power up the white ign wire or your tranny will not shift right or not at all and check engine light
You can use a 555T or 555L from DEI to bypass passlock or Omega PASS2 I think.   Good Luck.
