SRX, not easy-good luck ?

has anyone actually done remote start on this beast? OK- besides the fact that the styling is <questionable> how is this thing wired? Do we use Passlock or Transponder? any other Caddies similar? Please be specific if you have done this vehicle, I've got one on 3/10/04 and want to get it right the first time (if possible) What the heck is this thing? I show transponder, so a defeat like 555U. Haven't done one though. Certified Security Specialist

Use the GMDL2 for the OEM alarm as well as the door lock wires. This way you don't have to go into the doors and run 4 new wires for the locl/unlock and arm/disarm. Knowing those Caddy's, the door boot will be a pain to get into. The module uses the databus wire instead and also can auto roll up the windows upon locking the car with the remote FOBJeff

Easy car to do. The vehicle uses the Passkey 3+ transponder. I use the bypass from Omega which is the Trilogix piece and works great and easy to program. The info above is incorrect for the brake wire. That is located under the rear seat by the fuse panel on the drivers side. It is a white wire but there is no brake switch up front. It uses a totally different system that tells the computer where the brake pedal is. The tach wire is behind the instrument cluster. It is a white wire but there are two. I would have to look up my notes. The cluster is much easier to get to than running a wire to the engine compartment. Getting wires into the doors are easy. Boots are no problem. Besides that the only problem I had is the wires going to the ignition are extremely thin and I had to downsize the remote start wires to smaller ones so they did not break the factory wires. I solder all connections and had reservations about tapping those wires with such big wires from the remote start. Use a bypass module and if your not using the factory remotes get the databus module. DanDan
