Ok, which one is the status output? Is it a -ve output? So hopefully, if I hook that up, along with the green wire for the anti grind, I should have made some progress.........lets hope! lol

its a (-) trigger, there are two you can use on the new DEI products.  there is one blue/white wire on the same harness as the brake shut down input (brown), and there is a harness that plugs into the relay pack with leads for 2nd ign, accy, and starter, the blue wire there is status too.

OK, I'm gonna go over everything, but here's how I've got it, for my 96 trans am

Heavy harness =

Purple, starter side...green key side of starter wire (yellow on car)

Orange to accessory Orange on car

Pink/White to ign 2 Brown on car

Pink to Ign 1 Pink on car

4 pin harness on satellite:

Blue (-) status ouput to VATS relay

On H1 Harness:

RED / White (-) 200mA ch 2 to Trunk relay

Brown (-) to siren

Blue (-) trunk trigger to ORANGE / Blk at BCM blue connector

Green (-) door trigger

Orange ground when armed OUTPUT to black wire of second sensor (radar)

H3 Harness (5 PIN):

Blk/White to toggle switch (automotactic so didn't use neutral safety...works fine)

Violet/Wht to tach input at White wire on PCM (looked up connector spot 13)

Brown (+) brake input to white at brakes

Grey to hoodpin

And basically that's all I have hooked up. I have tested all of the alarm, except for the sensors, since I don't have them hooked up yet, and everything's working fine, it's just the remote start I have to change around, and hopefully if these connections look ok to everyone, then it should work!!

that needs to be hooked up with a toggle switch to ground to complete the remote start circuit.  you take that to a toggle switch to break the ground.  say if a mechanic needs to work on the car, with the switch off the car cant start.  when you engage the remote starter with out that wire grounded, the circuit doesnt exist, you need that to complete it.

Ok...now I'm getting a little frustrated....I tore the remote start satellite out, and rewired the entire thing, making sure everything was connected to the right wires, and done properly. Now, when I hit the remote start, it cranks, starts, then shuts down.

Now, I checked the VATS relay, and everything's wired right, I used the Blue status wire on the satellite to activate the relay. I STILL CANNOT get the system to learn the tach! Will the unit shut down after starting because of the tach learn? or is it 2 problems I'm dealing with (tach and VATS).

This is really getting frustrating.

BTW hooked up both sensors, and I am really impressed with how well it works and the quik response on the remote!!791XV in 96 TA remote start issue - Page 2 -- posted image.

Place the key in the ignition and try to start the TA. If it starts with the key in there then it's a VATS problem. If it doesn't start then it's a tach problem.

It does the same thing with the key in the ignition, starts and shuts down right away. If I put the key in the ignition and turn it to run (not start) then hit the remote start, it starts and stays running, but then tries to start again (not sensing the tach). This is why I question whether or not it's the VATS. (before I had the VATS hooked to the right wire, it wouldn't crank at all, if I put the key in, it would, but not stay running). I'm thinking there may be an all together different issue?!?

Did you test the tach wire for ac voltage that changes with engine RPM? Everything you've described now sounds like a tach signal problem; and on GM's PCMs there are always like 5 white or PURPLE / white wires and it's pretty easy to pick the wrong one. Usually you can just hook the tach signal up to the uncommon wire at any fuel injector and learn that.
