According to the manual, the RS 3.5's led is supposed to blink the # of times that corresponds with the zone that caused the last alarm and it's supposed to STOP blinking when you start the car again. Mine isn't resetting - it's blinking zone 1 or 2 (shock or proximity) as I'm driving. The only way to make it stop is to pull the fuse for the brain and plug it back in. It seems that I didn't connect any wire to that would let the brain know that the car is on - I can turn my alarm on while driving and it keeps going off (i guess b/c of the radar or shock sensors). HELP?!!

I installed the clifford rs 3.5 in my jeep. I didn't install anything that dealt with remote start. I can't find wiring info for a 04 Wrangler so I'm wondering if I should just take the alarm back and wait for the 04 wiring diagram to come out before I take it to get one installed for a lot more $$$. What do you think? I've spent more than 2 days and Circuit City/Best Buy/CarToys/Mobile1 say they can do it in 4-5 hours including remote start for either the clifford rs 3.5 or viper 761.

Help?!!! This was supposed to be easy!

The alarm gets it's ignition feed through the remote start relays. If these didn't get hooked up then the alarm doesn't know that the ign has been turned hence not resseting itself.

I've found some problems in the 3.5 as well as the RSIII. I hear they are suppose to be coming out with a 4.5 here pretty soon. My 3.5 doesn't even report what is going on with my car anymore.

you have to have the ignition wires hooked up.  if you have it in your vehicle and you arent using it for remote start, then i take it you are using it for alarm.  usually alarms need to have the starter wire cut, and have ign and 12v hooked up.  thats basically  a remote start right there.  DEI products need the door trigger signal, and ign hooked up to do the following:  Learn remotes, enter and select programming features, program the tach wire, enter and exit valet mode, operate the IGNITION controlled door locks.... basically everything its ment to do.

as far as the remote not reporting anything, try unplugging both ends of the antenna wire, from the antenna and the brain.  then plug them back in.  ive had that work twice.

as far as coming out with a 4.5, the 3.5 went on clearence at Best Buy, i think we are supposed to be getting viper now.  there have been a few viper SKUs added to our system.

Thanks for the information guys. I looked at the RS 2.5X and noticed that the H1 has a wire that is unused on mine that is for run/start power. I'm guessing that that's how the 2.5 knows the vehicle is on and from what you guys said it's obvious that the 3.5 uses the stuff on it's remote start circuit.

I think I'm just gonna go ahead and return this - I don't like messing with the starting system. I'll leave that to you experts.
