I have a 94' Nissan Altima with a Bose system (HU wired to 2 tweets, two front, two rear, all amplified by factory outboard amps).  I am installing JL audio component sets all around but would like to keep the factory HU and possibly make use of the factory amps.  Does anyone know the specs of the  factory head unit included with the bose system (CD, cassette, AM/FM).  I have no idea what kinda of power those amps put out (1 for front and one amp for rear speakers), or if they have any features such as internal crossovers and such.  Any info on these amps and the factory head unit (does the HU have an internal amp-- if so its specs) and what kind of wiring possibilities I have with them.  Thanks.

When I had to have my Bose system redone I went to guy that specialized in bose systems, mine is a 9 Speaker Bose System each speaker has an amp alot of wires I know, but my installer was liscensed to fix all car bose systems and order parts so if you live in a big city you can probably find a bose repair guy from links on the internet and he can tell you everything, or call nissan,,,

if your fixed on keeping the stock system be ready to endure some searching and some extra work. i would reccomend removing everything possible and starting from scratch with the sound system. "system integrations" can get complicated and some times not work correctly.
As far as the specs for your system have you tried to contact your local dealer yet? or read the back of the speakers? i know in my mothers '02 altima all of the specs for the stock speakers are listed on the back of the magnet.
