Door Speakers on a 91 mazda Protege

Hey there im buying a new speakers for my 1991 mazda protege and i looked on crutchfield and it say that i can fit either 5 1/4 or 6.5, is that true and will i have to do any cutting to put the 6.5s in, also crutchfield says that only one speaker will fit that is a kenwwod is that also true, or can i put any 6.5 with about a 2 inch top mount, thanks alot

it just installed some in my little girls mazda 6.5's will fit with no cutting.

hey speedway which 5.5s did you use, i was just wondering about the depth before it will hit, how much clearence did you have. thanks alot

they were some old JL's I had laying around. they were about 2 1/4" deep or so and still had room.
