1997 civic DX
compustar 2wss 2wayLCD. link to the installation manual
-i recently installed a compustar, my first compustar, and the remote doesnt respond to the unit. iono if the remote have to be program to get it to use.
-the unit seems to work, tach learned, light blinks, siren chirp....all of these happedn through the tach button, to show that the unit is working.
-putted battery in and pressed I and it beeps but lock/unlock no respond.
-i tried programming the remote but i couldnt get into program mode. for compustar, i had to take out the batt on the remote and turn the key on/off 5x and suppose to hear the relay chirp but nothing.
-i though maybe the ignition wire, but i connected the green to the civic's BLACK / YELLOW. i checked the green wire when ign is on and good.
-i plugged in everything antenna, of course, and both power wire, red and RED / white.
any compustar expert out there, help

Profuse>>How did you get it to work?  I have installed the exact same unit, and I am having the exact same problem.

All compustar products require the remotes to be programmed before use. Also unless they have updated it this year the 2wss can only have on remote.

When I did the install, I had some trouble figuring out where to connect the Engine Sensing wire on CN 3 wire #9 Yellow/Blk.  Install was on 90Camaro w/ auto tranny.  I understand the it's a small guage wire from the alternator for alternator sensing, but without a multimeter how can one tell which wire?  I do have access to a light tester, but best I can do for now.  tia

its on for tach sense at default.

hook it to either either wire.
remember to clip off the wire loop inside teh brain since youre using it for auto tranny.

The wire for alt sensing will only provide power while the car is running. Any other wire will give you an error and the brain will think that the car is already running.
