Is it possible to take out the acrylic bandpass panel on a bandpass box and just make it a ported sub or would that be totally twisted and messed up?

Depends on the internal volume and port diameter. Best way to find out is take it off and listen.
dream it, build it, fiberglass it

In general, it is not a good idea.  As PureRF said, it might be possible depending on the enclosure.  The best bet is to NOT do it and if you want to change enclosures, get a new one.

ok thanks, its sounds like a good idea but im sure your right, but a bandpass without the front panel would make a sweet looking ported box lol
