after recently installing my head unit, my central locking no longer works properly

basically all 4 buttons will go down but when i press button on remote they will not popup again

i checked the wiring for the central locking controller (drivers side kick panel) and both up and down wires are 12v, and when i pulse them with a different voltage they will go up and down.

i have a 1990 mitsubishi lancers and the door switches have 0 volts when door is closed and about 4 volts when door is opened

any ideas on what else i could have done to screw this up?

are they factory door locks or aftermarket????
when you say all 4 go down with the button, is that with the transmitter, door lock button, or pushing the the rod its self down????
Good Luck

its a factory setup..the central locking is hooked up to the alarm remote.

so if i press the alarm remote button the door buttons will go down, pushing them down gives the same result..when i press the button or pull a front door button up all of the doors dont open as they should

i want to make sure i understand what your saying:
they work off of the remote both lock and unlock...
when you lock by pushing down on the drivers door, do they all lock, just dont unlock??
thats strange because the remote will use the wires to lock and unlock as does the drivers door.
ill see if i can come up with something today and post it..
Good Luck

only the lock works off the remote

only the lock works by pushing down on the drivers door

basically unlock does not work at all

sounds ike you need to double check the point where the alarm hooks up to the factory door locks...sometimes they add a motor in the drivers door...
Good Luck

the problem is the central locking doesnt work at all..it should still work without the alarm..as it did used to work before and after the alarm without pressing the remote button..just by turning key or pushing down button on door etc

could be a couple of things...check all fuses or the CDL control box might be fried. if you know where that box is, you can see if you can get it apart and look inside for a burnt spot the board..
