To anyone who gives me advice on this, thanks in advance.I used to have 2 12" alpine type R's and they could stand up to everything I gave them. I now have two L7 solobarics and I'm not overly impressed with them. Does anyone have any input on which sub is superior? Like I said, I'm just looking for some feedback on which sub may be superior to the other.

Alpine Type R is far superior, both in terms of SQ and construction quality.  The L7's are great SPL speakers.  If I was to choose between those two, Alpine R's would win hands down every time.

That's what I was thinking too. I haven't run the Type R's off my Xtant 1000A but I'm pretty sure they'll be able to take the heat. The solobarics did (for a while), but their sound quality is piss-poor. Thanks for the advice, I think I'm gonna go back to the Type R's. Anyone want to by 2 L7's? solo baric L7's, or Alpine Type R's? -- posted image.

I want to maximize the sq more than spl, but there's no shortage of boom with two 12" Type R dvc's. I've decided I'm going to go with the Type R's I had before, and am going to sell the (2) L7 solo barics. Thanks everyone.

L7s for spl for sure, i sat in a ride with 12- type r'12s and all they got is great SQ, if setup right l7's can be a insane spl sub, put em in the right box and both will b good,

type-r 12's can definately handle your xtant.  I did a set up with 2 swr-1241d's, and 2 mrd-m1000's, , so stupidly loud and pure, , still not blown after a few months.

Have you throught about the new type-X series?  1 12" should be equivilant to 2 r-12's in both spl and sq.
