My next project in my 97 Cherokee is going to be an in-dash dvd reciever, and I'm stuck between the Kenwood Excelon KVT815DVD, or the Alpine IVAD900. Both are 7" touchscreen, with the TV tuner and basically all the same features, but the price difference between the Alpine and the Kenwood is $400. Does anyone have any experience with these two? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The IVAD-900 is not touch screen and does not include a TV tuner. The Alpine IVAD-300 uses Alpine's touch-pulse technology but also does not come with a TV tuner.

The IVAD-900 has the best picture quality in the industry. The Kenwood is a nice piece though.

If it doesn't fit.......make it fit.

Something else to keep in mind is that the screens on these units are very delicate.  Touch screen units are always being returned due to people touching the screens with too much force.  This will damage the unit.  Also its suck watching movies through finger prints.  Alpine over Kenwood anyday.

Do it right the first time

alpine is the one you want! the model your looking at has the best quality screen of all indash! Do you really want a touch screen? you will get a bunch of greasy finger marks! all you need is the remote and alpine have a great remote. also Alpines just sound GREAT.
