Im currently in the process of planning out the front stage of my new sq system in my 98 Grand Cherokee and im stuck between choosing rainbow audio or focal audio component speakers. From rainbow audio i want either these http://english.rainbow-audio.de/speaker/details.php?AN=231777 and a pair of midranges in the rear doors or http://english.rainbow-audio.de/speaker/details.php?AN=231533 and midranges in the rear doors. On the flip side, from Focal i either want these http://www.focal-america.com/catalog/utopia/165w3.htm and midranges in the rear doors or http://www.focal-america.com/catalog/K2%20Power/165k3p.html and midranges in the rear doors. Prices aren't that big of a factor for me since my budget is pretty big for the system. Which of the 4 will give my the best over sq in the front stage. Thanks in advance for your opinions or suggestions.

If cost is not a big factor, then you should also consider AVI components. A small Canadian company not well known. But everything I have read puts them in the top tier of SQ components.

You can go to their site, which is pretty basic, for more info. In order to get much info about the individual speakers in each set you need to go to the seperate speaker type links. The top of their line is the BSM series; BSM-160 two-way and Tri-Star BSM three-way.

If you click on the "News" button you'll find three reviews. The third review comparing twelve brands is in Japanese but the charts are self-explanatory.

There are no U.S. dealers but you can e-mail them for prices (they give a 10% discount for ordering directly).

Look into the Alpine F#1 Status speakers, every review they have ever been put into they have won hands down.  I personally have installed a few F#1 status systems, and i swear to god, not kidding you one bit.  No matter where you are in the car, YOU CANNOT tell where the speakers are!!  When its turned up ofcourse.   I had my co-installer set the fade and ballance to just 1 channel in the car and i put my ear up to every speaker in the car and could not tell until i was 6 inches away.   Like say the drivers front was the only one playing, , it took up until 6" away from the passengers rear speaker to tell that it was not the one playing.

The bass output is amazing, the 6" woofers open air  put out like 8's in a sealed box!

Pick up the January 2004 issue of Car Audio And Electronics magazine, they compared the TOP Highend components from, Alpine, DSL, Morel, and ARC Audio.

Out of 100

Alpine SPX-Z15m came first with 81points , Rainbow CS-260.30 with 75, Morel Hybrid 6 Ovation with 70, and DSL Iridum 6.2 with 60 points.

The alpines are cheeper than the Rainbow speakers too!

If im not mistaken, "Forbidden" has some F#1 status in his vehicle, he should give some insight.

2003 Chevy Avalanche,Eclipse CD7000,Morel Elate 5,Adire Extremis,Alpine PDX-4.150, 15" TC-3000, 2 Alpine PDX-1.1000, 470Amp HO Alt.

Well if the budget isn't an issue then you should look into Kimber Kable for all your wiring. Just kidding.
