hello everyone i am in great need of some help i am installing a remote start alarm in a 1998 pontiac grand am everything has worked out except for the passlock it has i was woundering if thier was a way to bypass the passlock with out having to buy any extra modules or anything if anyone know how please do help thanks everyone

You can do it with a relay and a resistor, but it's not the easiest way...you have to measure the resistance value between the passlock resistance wire and the passlock ground reference wire with the car running (the passlock resistance wire gets cut after the car's started with the key) and then hook up a relay - there are various diagrams for the relay floating around this site.

just buy the stupid 555L.  it will talke like 5 minutes to install and learn the code.  no resistors to break or dip switches to set.  hell, buy one on ebay.
