Could someone help me with an ignition sw

itch bypass. Welli bet your saying, go by a remote start, well about six months ago , i got in a car wreck, and the front end of my chrylser le baron got ripped off, it still ran, but right after i put a plate on it, the ignition switch on the column, snapped, so when i sat down to start it up, it clicked, no crank, nothing happened, the fuel pump don't even turn on, well i was wonder, how could someone with no money, a small amount of tools, get his car started so he can get to where he has to go to fix the P.O.S., please would someone help me because I'm completely in the dark.layitndragit.

Hey bumperdraggin, By your username I'd guess the Chrysler was a mess! Anyhow, what year is the LeBaron ?Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.

1987 Chrysler Le Baron, the ignition you put the key in, you turn it, and it stops, no crank lights turn on, and kind of stufflayitndragit.

OK Here's my 2 cents. Check to see if you have power at the big red and the big orange at the ignition switch. If not then I think you might have to change a couple of fuselinks. Fuselinks look like wire and are usually softer than regular wire. Follow the main 12v from the battery and at one point in the harness it will split into several wires. It is at this split point that you see the fuselinks. One is a gray color attached to a pink (12 volt feed to ignition switch). The other is an orange color attached to a red (12 volt feed to ignition switch). Test for power at both ends of each fuselink and you'll find the culprit. You can TEMPORARILY bypass the faulty one with 30 amp fuse to test. If all is OK, bring the defective fuselink to your neighbourhood autoparts store and ask for another. End of story. (it was long but damn good reading huh!) Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.
