I'm fairly new to using relays, so before I put too many hours into it, could you tell me if this will work or if there's anything I left out?

Turn the diode on your relay around and you should be good to go!
if its jammed force it - if it breaks in the process it needed to be fixed anyway

IMO you should use seperate relays for the remote turn on lead, the fan, and the neon.

Does it really matter that much whether I use a seperate relay for each? I had heard from others that It would work just as well like this.

It will work absolutely fine with just the one relay. Any more is just a waste of money. Just make sure you use a high current relay

What is the current draw of the neon? More money, relays are like $1.00 at wholesale. Also you may or may not induce engine noise into the amplifier from the transformer in the neon's power supply.

Good point about the engine noise. Guess it depends on the quality of the neon kit. Typical neons (streetglow gold) draw about 1/2 an amp. Where can you find relays for $1? (seriously, I've been paying $3 a piece for the bosch relays I use) Also, whoud you happen to know where I could find two coil latched relays?

I'm going to just plan on using one high current relay from radio shack (#275-226) for now, & I'll let you know about the engine noise after I have time to do the install. I'm too busy with work right now. I don't know the current draw of the neons. I know they are streetglow, but they were given to me used, so that's all I can tell you.

ok, this may be a stupid noobie question, but my fan has 3 wires instead of 2 (positive, negative, & ground). Yeah, I'm not so new that I don't know that. Anyway, in my diagram, I had the negative wire going to ground, so what do I do when I have both negative & ground?

are you sure that's a 12vdc fan and not a 110vac?
