yeah, it's 12 volt DC. It came out of a computer I had laying around. It has 3 wires: red, yellow, & black. It says the brand is POWMAX.

not too sure about that one....seeing as it's out of a pc and not exaclty made for mobile apps. I'm sure if you hook up just the ground and power it will work...but fuse the power wire to be safe....if i were you i'd just go to radio shack and buy a 12vdc mini-cage fan for like 10 buck....really strong fan and really cheap
if its jammed force it - if it breaks in the process it needed to be fixed anyway

your standard pc fan has 3 wires, 12v, ground, and signal, the 3rd wire is what tells the motherboard how fast it is spinning and can just be discarded (CUT OFF!!!!). Plus you can get them for like a buck online.

I found another fan that only has the two wires, so I don't have to worry about it. Thanks for your help. Hopefully I'll actually have time to install this sometime soon.
