This is the DRL(Daytime Running Light) relay diagram(Omron).

Need help with DRL Relay - Last Post -- posted image.

I need to wire it to my foglight to make it as a DRL instead of using the headlight. I will wire it directly to the battery and a switch that I can choose the DRL mode(60%output) or the regular foglight mode(100%output).

I don't have much knowledge about the electronic stuffs. All I need to know is how can I connect this relay to foglights, switch, and battery.

OK. Finally, I got it work, but the problem is the DRL relay is just a regular relay. First I thought DRL relay has a build-in resistor, but it's not.

My question is what the resistor number do I need to convert 12V to 10V to make the light dim when I select the DRL mode.

There was a website that used a relay and two '1ohm 25 watt resistors in series'. I saved the drawing but not the site. It was on a motorhome tips site.

I just did a search and was amazed how many people hate DRLs. Most websites tell how to take them out.

I think the easiest way to run them at a lower voltage is to simply run the lamps in series instead of parallel if they are not already in parallel. the voltage will drop evenly across the two bulbs. there is a diagram on this site under relays as to how to switch between parallel and series. That whould work well or if that doesn't work you can play around with different resistors to get the brightness you want. I know that GM uses the high beams in series to dimm the voltage and create the DRL's.
