I'm looking for a good amp for some components, probably the Diamond Hex 6.5's.  It will be driven off an Eclipse 8443.  I want as high a quality as possible for a price that fits my budget (the lower the better, but under $200 is ideal).

I've been looking at some of the Xtant models (A2002), Eclipse EA2212, and some of the Soundstream RUBICON amps.

1)  Is 50x2 enough for the Diamond's?

2)  Is Soundstream a good quality amp?  I can buy a 100x2 Soundstream for the price of the Xtant or Eclipse.

Any other suggestions?

Karl

The Hex components will operate just fine with 50 watts input, and if you later upgrade they can handle up to about 150.  Eclipse and Xtant are far better sound quality amps than Rubicon, in my opinion.  Of the amps you listed, the Eclipse EA2212 would be my first choice.

Thanks DYohn.  I think I'll rule the Rubicon out.  Anyone else have any suggestions on high quality amps for components in the under $200 range?

I am running the components you listed, and I am using an Xtant 404 and they sound great.
