Questions about ohms and watts

I have three Jensen XS1212 12 inch subs. They can handle 175 RMS and 525 Peak. I have a Legacy Amp (LA2080) they can run 2x350 at 2 ohms or 2x200 at 4 ohms. My question is if I got another Jensen sub and wired the subs in parallel to each channel would I roughly get around 175 RMS for each sub? I think that I would because if I wire two 4ohms subs in parallel that makes a 2 ohm load which my amp can run 350 through both channels at a 2 ohm load. I could be wrong though because I am not a car audio genius or anything.

don't wire all 4 subs in parallel and then hook them up in mono, that would make it 1 ohm and you won't have an amp for long.  wire 2 in paralled put them on the left channel, then wire the other 2 in parallel and put them on the right channelwhat!?!?! you want some??

... and remember that Jensen over-rates their products by at least 50% so it may SAY 175 watts RMS but don't expect them to last too long with much more than 100.  And the Legacy 2080 amp claims 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms, but is really closer to a 100 watt amp.  This setup will work fine as long as you recognize the limitations and don't push it too hard.  Or you could go to the opposite extreme and punish it for a pounding system that will last a few days.  Jensen and Legacy are considered by most to be fairly low SQ disposable brands, so be warned!Support the12volt.com
