OK, over the years I`ve learned that if you have a problem with car audio, SOMEONE,SOMEWHERE has had this problem and come up with a clever solution. (speaker adapters, wire harnesses, etc.etc.) So here goes: It seems that every manufacturer of subwoofer enclosures just can`t help but cut the mounting holes too big. Obviously to accomodate the "one size fits all" mentality. So does anybody know of an outfit that makes mounting plate-shims to 1. Help the sub fit more snugly and 2. Allow for a more solid (and wider) mounting area? You see so many boxes ruined by DA`s that don`t properly space the mounting holes or pre-drill them to prevent wood breakout. A well built shim-spacer-mounting ring would be worth it`s weight in gold. I gotta believe someone builds these. SOUND OFF Y`ALL!

I've never heard of rings for subs, only for smaller speakers. Another problem with those prefab boxes is enclosure volume, which, if a little too small, can be fixed with some polyfill. What subs do you have? Your best bet is to find a sub box meant for your sub, or do what we do, build it (either the ring or the whole box).
