Looking for opinions between the two, should I JUST use fiberglass where I have to, and MDF the rest of the enclosure? Or would using fiberglass for most of my enclosure be the way to go?  Which is going to give me the better box overall?  Thanks

Use Mdf for most of the straight areas you will be fiberglassing. it is best to use as much mdf as possible to give your enclosure the strenght you need.  I'm not an expert but fiberglass will not be as strong. i would mdf the straight sides and use mdf with some type of support you can use is rope or mdf strips. but if all else fail... do ya research

What Im doing is cutting out the floor under the rear seat , passenger side of my Tundra to fit the Sub that I want, Origionally I was going to build an MDF enclosure into this new steel drop box.  I was just curious what people thought of me Using fiberglass, it would save me a bit of space, and the fiberglass would be surrounded by sheet metal<the box>,  If MDF will make a better enclosure then I have this option as well, Ive just never used fiberglass and thought it would be a fun venture  =)~

Only use the fiberglass if you want a custom look. And if you can keep that custom look of fiberglass and still throw some MDF in the flat areas thats just less glassing you have to deal with. I would def go for the glass though because it looks much better and impressive when all done.
dream it, build it, fiberglass it
