I gotta new trunk project goin on now,  It involves a 93 MX-6 (black) and a new alpine X-Type sub. The color scheme will be black vinyl and Audi TT gloss grey.  It will house one X-type 12" and two Alpine amps (v12&Accuclass)

heres some design layouts:

All the trim will be black vinyl and the sunken mount and the 2.5" deep storage compartment lids on each side will be Audi TT.   The inside of these compartments will be lined with charcoal suede.  The side contour are not just becasue they were easy to draw, i have actually made a new trunk wall liner to follow these lines, nice smooth 'S' shapes.

At this point, the trim is cut, the storage compartments are made and lined with charcoal suede, the amp mount and plug have been cut, the storage holes have been routered for the covers to sit in, and the frame has been built for the amp rack and sub rings.    I am glassing the tire well today.   I am unable to make proper rings for the subs as i do not know the inner and outer size of the subs.  These specs are not released yet, i have been in contact with Jeff (designer of the X-Type).  He is calling me back when he finds a measuring tape...grin.

If you have any comments or suggestions, please message back.. I will take some digi's

Just curiousabout your design. The spot for the sub is there enough air space beneath it for the enclosure ? I thought the X-Type subs were rather deep. From the drawings I can't see it look as flat as it will be when it's done. Aside from that, it looks great and would love to see the finished product when your finished.

i am just glassing the fleece right now and it looks alot like the drawing.   Pretty sick... rightnow it's red though (fishfabric).  already test fit with the tire well enclosure, lots of space.    This is going beautifully.....knock on wood.  You guys know how i can mate the tire will frame and the top fascia? Want it to be servicable.... probly silicon or something.... any ideas welcome

Should be finished soon... i've been taking film pics as i go so you'll probly get pics when it's complete. I'll keep ya tuned

not too sure about that.  hmm.  you could put it on hinges with pnuematic shocks to hold it open/closed and use weaterstripping and silicone to make it seal when its closed.  dont know how that would work.  just throwin things at ya.
