Had my car broken into about a month ago =(

and they took my pioneer HU and two amps

Now the good news is they left my sub and my 6 x 9s .... and insurance has forked out enough for me to get a new head unit and two amps and maybe some splits ( as im thinking about installing it myself  to save some dollars =) )

now i have installed my new alpine cda 9815 but it isnt sounding really good with my 6x9s they are about 3 year old pioneer 6x9s and were very nice b4 with my amp setup.

now im wondering is it just that im used to an amp or should the 9815 run a set of 6x9s to a decent sound level ??

I'm sure they will sound better when you put an amp back on them that will help to send them the power that they need.
