I was wondering if a remote starter can automatically start a diesel, when the battery level drops to a pre determinated level. Then shut off the engine. The pre determinated level would be enough to start the van. The reason for this would be that the van would be used as a mobile office running a computer, TV, DVD, microwave, ect. An inverter would be used to convert the power.

There are quite a few remote starts which can be programmed to start when the voltage drops - usually the manufacturers advertise that feature somewhat, so they're not too hard to find.
