97 Chevy Z71 Remote start problem

Can anyone help me out I have a 97 Chevy Z71 pick up and its got a hornet 553T remote start/alarm and when I press the button to start it it does not start I hear the fuel injector hiss the headlights go on and all acc. lights but just doesn't cran over can anyone tell me whats going on.

sounds like passlock is not bypassed correctly..how exactly did u do the bypass?

it was working and orked good for about 4 years now it just stoped.

there is no passlock in97 check the starter relay in the ribbon cable harness its the one with the purple wire in it just pull the relay out and put in a new one if you dont have a relay switch with the accessory relay on the orange wire it wont hurt anything but if it works get a new relay asap

yeah there are 4 relays there. So just take out the relay with the purple wire in it and put a new one in, are all relays the same I have a 30amp bosch relay will that be the same.

well there is only 3 in the triple relay harness and an addition relay for I don't know what.

the purple wire has +12 volts in it all the time, I don't think this is normal and my LED when I start my truck with my key it flashes 3 time it use to flash 6 times before anyone have any idea whats up.

It may be wired up wrong and worked for a little while then burnt out the relays. You should only have 12v to the starter wire (purple) while cranking the engine, no other time. Test the other wires to see if they are getting 12v only when cranking and rewire accordingly

take a jumper and ground  the purple ribbon wire if it cranks the starter your relay and wires are good ,you will have 12 v at the ribbon but they go to lo current ground when starting

3 flashes denotes tach lockout...recheck your tach wire to see if it's still connected...if you soldered it under the hood you may have to redo it if it has corroded at the connection.....
