What is everyone's take on the famous JL Audio 12" W7?  I might consider investing in that sub.

Thanks

I think it is one of the best SQL subs on the market.  But there are a couple drivers out there that will match it's performance for half the cost.  And no, I'm not talking about the MTX 9500. JL Audio 12 W7 - Last Post -- posted image.

I am extremly impressed with the 9500 but they are definatly more of a spl sub. Dont get me wrong, they sound good, but they are billed as a spl machine. The things are damn near bullet proof. The W7 is definatly a SQ sub, it can play loud but its meant to sound good frst loud second. Its a fine sub fo a sq system but if you want spl then you want something else

Define SQ & spl for me please.  I don't know the difference between the two.

Stephen was also bang on with his suggestion, be it a little biased maybe but I won't tell. JL Audio 12 W7 - Last Post -- posted image.. There are quite a few solid performers that will equal of not exceed the W7, all it takes is a little looking around.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
