I am trying to hook up my ignition wires and starter wires etc. The wiring database say it is from the ignition harness, I traced the wires from the ignition key cylinder and found all of it.. there is a connector, which I could disconnect.

But the problem is the wires here are so thick.. but short. I would think if they make an adapter that goes in between the connector and have leads coming out of it, that would save me a lot of time. Well. If I get a turbo timer harness for a specific car, is that essentially what it is?

But my alternative plan is just to suck it up and try to skin off the insulation with a knife and tack the wires on with solder. What do you think?

They do make harness adaptors that you are referring to from Bulldog, they are called T-harnesses. I have never used them becuase it's unecessary costs to an installation and the ignition wires are usually long enough that I can work with them. If they are too short, then disconnect the wires fromt he plug to get more slack and then splice into them & reattach the harness when done.

I tried one of those t-harnesses and I could not make it fit in to the space after hours of trying. Do not use a utility knife for tapping the wires, they suck. Do a search on here for tapping to wires, and you will learn all about different ways to do it easily, and not cut the crap out of your fingers(been there, done that)
