I need to upgrade my alternator in my 93 accord so that I can run a PPI PCX-1500 which puts out 1000W RMS.  Also i got an amp for my highs which puts out 120W RMS (not really a big deal).  The answer I'm getting from a local shop is that the best he can do is a 120-amp alternator, anything higher will require brackets, etc.  I was looking for 135amps,  Any opinions on whether 120-amps will be sufficient to run the car, ac, rear defrost, audio system, and still charge the battery?

Go big or go home, what happens in the future if you want to add another amp or more subs? Find a bigger alternator if possible.

Sebastian: My stock alt is 85 amps.  Forbidden: I defininetly wont be adding any more equipment to my car.  I'll buy a new car before I sink any more than I already have into this one. Plus I think two 12" L7's is plenty for my ears.

WHAT'S THAT... I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE BASS. DID YOU SAY L7'S? It should play plenty loud for you. Don't spend the extra dollars then having a custom fabrication done. Have a closer look around for a bolt on option and see what you come up with.
