hey i just got a new amp, alpine MRP-M350 i currently have 2 JL w0s (125 watt) which i dont think will be able to take the power of the alpine, (700 watt peak) so how do i determine which subs would be best? would i simply want to go for a pair of subs that are 350 watt each? does anyone have a suggestion for what subs i should use? i need two 10 inch subs. which subs with new alpine amp? - Last Post -- posted image.

i would actually get 2 10" alpine type S for your amp. that amp would give those things quite a bit of power and they would sound very good. especially in a sealed box! running diff types of brand names in a stereo is...well how should word it:\ well not insinc as with all of the same name in one stereo. i dunno if this works for car stereo, but i definately know it works for home audio!

700 watts peak, so around 350 rms right? So, 175 per sub? The JL's could handle that.

I agree with chi on that. You may find its not worth the expense to change subs to pick up an additional 25-50 RMS, and those JL's are worthy. Do you have two 4 ohm SVC's paralleled to a 2 ohm load? The amp will put out 350 watts at 2 ohms, but that rating is at 14.4 Volts in. The real-life power might be somewhat less than that.

If you look for 2 new subs, look for SVC 4 ohm at 200 watts RMS.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

cool, thanks, i just wasnt sure if it was going to be to much for the subs, but sounds if itll be cool, so ill stick with em :)
