Air Bag removal

I have a 1994 Honda Prelude Si and I want to remove the passenger air bag to make room for a motorized tv screen.  I have been told that you need to be careful so you do not deploy the airbag.  Does anyone know how to remove the airbag easily and safely?  If I disconnect the battery, will the airbag still deploy? 

I heard that in newer cars, the airbags are connected to a secondary power source that stays on for about 90 seconds after you turn off the battery (in case of an accient where your power is cut off, the airbags would still work). That is how my vehicle works. (I read that in the repair manuals.) So if you give a few minutes after you disconnect the battery, you should be safe I assume. Double check with another person (or car repairman) before taking my word for it though.   However, I would not advise you to remove any airbags since they are there for safety and would probably be violating safety laws and regulations.
